Hi, I’m Ashley!
I’m a reading specialist, instructional coach, and former classroom teacher with 18 years of experience helping children become confident, capable readers. I spent eight years in the classroom before pursuing my true passion: literacy. I transitioned into reading intervention so I could dig deeper into how kids learn to read and help them overcome the struggles that often go unnoticed.

What I love most about this work is solving the mystery behind a reader. Every child is unique, and I see it as my mission to diagnose what’s holding them back and provide exactly what they need to grow. I believe learning to read should be joyful and empowering. That’s why I focus on making lessons fun, purposeful, and scaffolded to meet each learner where they are.

I’ve been trained in Orton-Gillingham and other evidence-based interventions, and over the years I’ve developed a toolkit of tried-and-true strategies that support foundational phonics, fluency, and instruction grounded in the Science of Reading.

I created In Full Bloom to share that expertise with you—whether you’re a parent supporting your child at home or a teacher bringing structured literacy into your classroom. Here, you’ll find practical tips, encouragement, scaffolded support, and easy-to-use resources that are backed by research and built for real life.

Outside of education, I love spending time with my family, especially my 7 year old son and my Russian Siberian Cat named Romy. You will find me frequenting TJ Maxx, Home Goods and Marshalls looking for treasures. In the summer, I love going boating, running and going for long walks.
